EGGfest is a relaxed community event for backyard cooks who enjoy making good food and sharing it with others.
There are no rigid recipe categories and no formal judging panel. Tasters vote for the team that creates their favorite food.
Share Your Signature Recipe - Serve the ribs, pizza, wings, dessert, or other dish your friends and family already love.
Meet Your People - Trade recipes, techniques, and Big Green Egg stories with cooks from across Southwest Missouri.
Support a Local Cause - Proceeds benefit the Keystone Kops and ABA Sportsmen, two groups within the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine.
Win the EGGcellent Chef Awards - Each Taster gives votes for their favorite Cooking Teams. The teams with the most votes earn awards and year-long bragging rights.
Spend the Day Together - Create a team with friends, family, coworkers, a local business, restaurant, or community group.
EGGfest directly benefits the Keystone Kops & ABA Sportsmen charities.
Proceeds from our event go directly to these fantastic groups as they provide lodging and transportation assistance to children and their families during their care at Shrine Hospitals across the region.
During EGGfest, this distinguished unit of the Abu Ben Adhem Shrine Mosque helps us organize, set up, and execute EGGfest while selling drinks and RAFFLE TICKETS during the event.
Last year alone, we raised over $9,000.00 for this charity during EGGfest!

Cooking Teams may represent:

Team signage, menus, and business info are welcome within the assigned cooking space.
What to Expect
Arrival & Setup
PRE-EVENT SETUP - OCT 23RD • 3:00PM - 6:00PM
Cooking teams may set up their cooking stations the day before EGGfest between 3:00PM and 6:00PM. We have security scheduled to be onsite until we arrive the next morning. This is strongly encouraged for all cooking teams and makes set up easier for everyone the next day.
DAY OF SETUP - OCT 24TH • 7:00AM - 8:00AM
We ask that Cooking Teams arrive no later than 8:00AM the day of EGGfest to unload vehicles/trailers, set up your cooking station (approx. 12'x12' space), light your EGG(s) and begin cooking.
Day of EGGfest
Our staff will be on-site by 6:00AM to coordinate the event setup and prepare for cooking teams. Please do not arrive before 7:00AM unless prior arrangements have been made.
EGGFEST - OCT 24TH • 10:00AM - 2:00pm
EGGfest Cooking Teams showcase their skills by serving bite-size samples of their unique recipes throughout the day for our Tasters to enjoy.
We ask that cooking teams participate/cook for the entire event. You don't always have to be serving, but you should always be working on your next dish.

No. Cooking Team registration is free.
Teams may include up to six people.
No. Outdoor Home provides the primary EGG and convEGGtor.
Teams may prepare meats, seafood, pizza, vegetables, appetizers, baked dishes, desserts, and other recipes suitable for the Big Green Egg.
No. Each team supplies its own food and ingredients.
Power is limited and must be requested in advance.
Yes. Optional early setup is Friday, October 23, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

12th Annual "EGGcellent Chef" Competition
As Tasters enter the event, each will be given 3 votes to cast for the cooking team they feel produced the best results on the Big Green Egg.
There are no specific categories or rules for this "People's Choice" competition.
This allows cooks to prepare a variety of recipes throughout the day and demonstrate the versatility of the Big Green Egg for all our Tasters!
All cooks are encouraged to participate as there are no special requirements and no additional costs... but the winners will receive a distinguished prize once the votes are tallied!
To get signed up, all you need to do is fill out the registration form and send it our way. Then we'll follow up and make sure you don't have any additional questions.

EGGfest is a rain or shine event. In the event of inclement weather, the event may be delayed or rescheduled. No refunds will be given due to force majeure or cancellation. The safety of our event participants is our top priority. If severe weather conditions develop, we may need to temporarily occupy a safer space. Please follow the instructions of event staff in the event of an emergency. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
